New Release!
SOUTHERN OREGON AUTHOR-WRITER EVENT PR RESOURCE GUIDE - 2009 Edition
by Claire Krulikowski
Are you an author - or do you know an author - who is planning to schedule an event in Oregon. Southern Oregon is a cultural mecca that should be included on their (your?) book/workshop itinerary. To help you promote successfully, utilize this newly released 24 page PDF document, which includes listings and contact information for both print newspapers and online event calendars. Authors and book event promoters will now have access to listings of daily, weekly and "speciality topic" newspapers, and event calendars on a variety of websites, such as TV and radio station calendars, newspaper calendars, community calendars, tourist-site event calendars, numerous Chamber of Commerce sites. Plus there's a page of travel assistance links for the benefit of writers visiting from outside the Southern Oregon region.
So, "Seize the Day" -- and this PR Resource Guide.
Price is $10.00 and the PDF document will be emailed to you. For ordering info, click the CONTACT CLAIRE Claire button to email me questions (Subject Line: PR Guide).
COPYWRITING JOB IS OVER
When you're a writer, isn't it great to have a "day job" as a writer also! When I moved to Southern Oregon I was fortunate to land just that and for the last 4-1/2 years I've been employed as the Website Copywriter for a large Internet retailer of computer monitor arms and office computer furniture accessories that's located in the Rogue Valley, less than a 15 mile commute from my house.
That job ended for me and several other employees in mid-November 2008, and now I'm "keeping on keeping on." Two months later I'm still amazed that for 4-1/2 years I was able to get up sooooo early. Not that I'm lazing. I'm busily crafting queries and searching out new employment opportunities everyday. I'm looking to be doing 'my work,' and I'm also open to new locations and opportunities.
If you hear of a possible writing/PR/website content/organizational position that you feel I MIGHT be interested in, please email me at: claire at ashootingstarz dot com.
DOWNLOAD WRITER CLASSES NOW
Every writer requires some instruction/direction that can help make their writing life easier, more profitable, and/or more profitable. I've been taking steps to bring beneficial information to authors for several years, and now that's become easier and more far-reaching.
Now two of my classes are available to be downloaded via lulu.com at extremely low and very cost effective prices for everyone. The "value-add" is that once you've purchased the audio (and print notes) you will have the liberty of listening to the classes at your leisure and as many times as you like!
Here's the info and hyperlink to both classes (clicking on the class titles below will take you to the appropriate lulu order pages):
--Grants for Writers: Follow the Money! (Multimedia Download $3.95)
What writer hasn't bemoaned the need of funds to move their project along? If you’re one, you owe it to yourself to discover the many sources of funding available so not everything has to be paid from your own pocket. There are many more funding agencies available than a cursory scan of a magazine will reveal, and writers willing to organize their research can improve opportunities for success. This 38 minute 1 second recorded audio class presentation (not a book) explains different funding options and suggests strategies to focus the writer's quest, plus provides source information.

-- Book Publishing Contracts: Be Prepared Before Signing on the Dotted Line
Multimedia Download $4.95.
This class is an overview about book contract terms and conditions for writers. Learn the purpose of contracts and the need for discernment before signing on the dotted line. This 64 minute 27 second recorded audio presentation reviews numerous contractual clauses to which writers should pay special attention. Information is applicable to P.O.D. as well as standard publishing contracts. (Notes complement the audio class.) TO DOWNLOAD, GO TO --

Lulu.com is the distributor of these classes, and they are in charge of the process, so please contact lulu.com rather than myself concerning any questions you have with your ordering process. I've tested their system by downloading works by other users and find they have a very responsive system and clear customer service answers. I've also had a couple friends test the download process of these two classes prior to making any announcement and everything worked well for these savvy folks, so now it's your turn to take advantage of this opportunity.
I'm pleased that there is now a way that people in all parts of the country will be able to access this class information. I'd appreciate it if you all will help pass the word!
